HEALTH BENEFITS AND PROPERTIES OF DIGEST INFUSION

ROOIBOS

Rooibos is a plant of South African origin. Its name means red bush. It is often referred to as Rooibos tea, but this name is incorrect, because it does not come from the tea plant. Rooibos does NOT contain theine, so, as it has no exciting substances, we can drink it at any time, even at night, without fear of insomnia.
It is a magnificent ally for health, with an antioxidant effect, due to its flavonoid, mineral and vitamin content.
This high concentration of flavonoids such as aspalathin, orientin, osoorientin, rutin and isoquercitin, among other substances, means that drinking an infusion of Rooibos helps to reduce the negative effects of free radicals, which are responsible for cellular ageing, metabolic stress, cardiovascular and degenerative diseases and cerebral ageing.
Sedative properties: Traditionally, rooibos has been used as a natural remedy to promote rest and relaxation.
As a natural antispasmodic, rooibos takes care of your digestive system and is traditionally used to relieve difficult digestion, gas and even colic in babies.
In laboratory experiments, its aspalathin content has shown anti-diabetic effects by promoting the correct concentration of sugar in the blood.

GINGER

Ginger rhizome is one of the most popular superfoods. It is very versatile and easy to use as an ingredient that adds personality to every drink. It contains compounds such as gingerol, shogaol, paradol and zingerone that are responsible for most of its health benefits.
It is mainly used as a digestion stimulant and for its carminative effect, as well as its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, so it can play an important role in brain health. Some studies have shown that ginger may protect against brain ageing and cognitive decline.
Also as a natural remedy to relieve nausea and vomiting (travel sickness), among many other uses.

FENNEL

It has diuretic and carminative properties due to its spasmolytic and analgesic effects. It aids digestion and helps to expel gas, reducing bloating and promoting a flat stomach. It is recommended for use in cases of diarrhoea, colic, urinary tract disorders and also to promote milk secretion.
It is also recognised for use in the treatment of catarrh of the upper respiratory tract. It can be used externally to relieve tired eyes.

CHAMOMILE

For thousands of years, chamomile has been used as an infusion to treat various problems of the digestive system. Due to its chamazulene content, it is ideal for heavy digestions, as an anti-inflammatory, preventing bloating, flatulence and belching.
Chamomile also contributes to optimal mental and physical relaxation. It relaxes our body and prepares us for a better night's rest. This action is caused by apigenin, a flavonoid found in chamomile. This flavonoid combines with benzodiazepine receptors in the brain, providing a relaxing effect to reduce anxiety.
All these digestion-related benefits are due to its natural relaxing properties. Since the brain and stomach have a direct link via the vagus nerve, a peaceful mind leads to better gut health.

ALCHEMILLA

Its main constituents are flavonoids: quercetin, rutinoside, arabinoside and kempferol. It is approved for the treatment of mild diarrhoea, due to its astringent, decongestant, haemostatic and digestive properties. It prevents dehydration and electrolyte loss.
It has also been traditionally used to reduce discomfort related to menstruation and menopause, due to its antispasmodic effect, which relieves cramps and abdominal pain.
For the skin: the infusion can be applied to the skin and improves blood circulation, with a calming and anti-inflammatory effect.

HYPERRICOUS

Scientific research is once again focusing on its beneficial action on low moods. We now know that hypericum, with its complex chemical composition, is an effective aid against discouragement and depression, due to its action on various neurotransmitters, chemical substances that our body produces and which are closely related to emotions and mood.

Over the last 20 years, numerous clinical studies have been carried out which support its usefulness in the treatment of low mood, depression, anxiety, night terrors and neurovegetative disorders associated with the menopause.

ANTIOXIDANTS THAT HELP SKIN CARE

Rich in antioxidants that can help fight the damaging effects of free radicals in your body.

Antioxidants also contribute to younger-looking skin. The tannins and phenolic compounds it contains promote collagen production, helping to delay cellular ageing.

Because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory components, it is ideal for skin care.

The main health benefits of SPICES such as pink pepper, cardamom and cinnamon are found in polyphenols, which help to prevent cell damage, relieve inflammation and help to improve metabolism. They also contribute characteristic aromas and flavours to this infusion.

Drinking herbal teas throughout the day is a very healthy way to stay hydrated and contribute to our physical, mental and emotional well-being, providing our body with substances that help it to function properly. And we can do so while enjoying pleasant aromas and flavours.
