Green anise: the infusion of your digestion

Green anise (Pimpinella anisum) is well known for fighting indigestion, but the effects of anise as a medicinal plant do not end there. The plant has many other benefits.

Green anise is one of the oldest medicinal plants. As early as 2000 BC, it was used in regions of Egypt and Greece.

This infusion is used to improve digestion by combating heartburn, flatulence and bloating. But there are also other benefits of aniseed:

  •     Analgesic and antispasmodic. It acts against colic, whether stomach or menstrual.
  •     Expectorant. Its components facilitate the expulsion of phlegm and, with this, soothe coughs.
  •     Antioxidant. Due to the presence of linalool and vitamin C, it helps to protect cells from oxidation.
  •     Strengthens the immune system. Its acids act as protectors against diseases such as flu.
  •     Anti-inflammatory. Helps to reduce fluid retention, headaches and migraines.
  •     Calming. Contains natural light sedative properties that help to fall asleep.
  •     Increases appetite. This is very useful in cases of convalescence due to illness or post-surgery.
