Similar to the traditional one
Brendon S. on 2018-08-22 Although I'm not a big fan of artificial teas this one has my approval. I've always liked Chai-tea in the traditional way but this one is really similar and works perfectly for whenever I'm short of time.

Chai tea, or masala chai, is a drink that originated in South India where it was used in a sacred way to energise the body, activate it and keep the mind alert. It is composed of spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and of course, black tea. It was invented over fifteen hundred years ago as a medicinal remedy to relieve pain, stimulate digestion and improve circulation. It was the British, when they colonised India, who added black tea to the infusion.

Because of all the ingredients it contains, Chai Latte is good for controlling nausea, improving digestion and is a very effective diuretic.

Properties and Benefits of Chai Tea

  • Chai tea is a perfect pick-me-up to start the day; in addition, theaflavins and thearubigins in black tea have antioxidant properties, and it is a very effective diuretic.
  • Clove is a natural analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and aids digestion.
  • Cardamom contains protein, regulates metabolism, and is recommended for arthritis and urinary problems, as well as being an expectorant and antiseptic.
  • Cinnamon improves blood sugar and cholesterol, helps with colds and mouth infections and is rich in vitamins.
  • Ginger has many medicinal properties, including helping with intestinal problems; it is anti-diarrhoeal, remedies nausea, promotes blood circulation, is an excellent analgesic and is perfect for combating the flu.
  • Black pepper, an ingredient in this infusion, has the ability to help the pancreas produce digestive enzymes, which speeds up the time required to digest fats and proteins.
  • A common factor in all these spices is the benefit they have on the digestive system, which is why chai tea is good for stomach aches, stomach ulcers, nausea, diarrhoea, improves overall digestion and eliminates flatulence.

All these benefits can be found in every cup of chai tea in our shop.
